Winter Walks and Snowshoe Hikes at Prato allo Stelvio

With or without snowshoes, a walk in the pristine nature in Prato allo Stelvio/Prad am Stilfserjoch, is a good way of showcasing winter in the Venosta Valley. From the bottom of the valley in Prato to the sunny slopes on the surrounding mountains, there’s an unrivaled view of the Ortler mountain and the Ötztal Alps accompanying the hiker.

A particular feature of the Venosta Valley is its inner-Alpine dry climate. Even during winter it is therefore possible to enjoy snow-free path along the old irrigation channels at the Monte Sole mountain.
