The varied landscape of the Ortler region is perfect for cyclists: from the valley around Prato/Prad up to the highest peaks of the Ortler group in the Stelvio National Park. Majestic panoramas, crystal clear mountain air and lush green meadows make mountain biking in the Venostan mountains a true experience of nature.

For those preferring more comfortable itineraries, there are the valley trails to explore on the Via Claudia Augusta, running along the length of the Venosta Valley near Prato allo Stelvio.

More experienced road cyclists are also used to visiting the area around Prato allo Stelvio where, the Giro d'Italia (the most important race in the Italian cycling calendar and one of the most important in the world), usually passes the challenging Cima Coppi on the Stelvio Pass.

During spring and summer you can take advantage of the ticket bikemobil Card for train rides and bicycle rentals. The Venosta Valley railway offers bicycle rentals at seven train station along the route. The bikemobil Card allows you to use all public transportation in South Tyrol and a rental bike.
