The Parish-church of "Maria Himmelfahrt", with the highest church-tower of Tyrol, 97 meters, was restored in new-baroque style in 1505. The tower of the parish-church is symbol of Schlanders, it is visible from far away and has a fine spire with a little indication to resist the wind. In September the procession "Maria Name" always takes place: the Holy Virgin floats down of the high altar and is carried through the village.
